  • Outstanding teachers and scientists interviews that change my life!

Life changing discussions with expert teachers and scientists. In each interview I pull out one or two gems of practice that are doable for me. As a result, I have a sense of greater awareness, curiosity, and acceptance of my feelings. I also have greater hope and openness to my development process that will not just be a straight line up. There is freedom and comfort knowing that I will falter at times but that is expected and part of all growth.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

On the New Science of Pain and How to Heal | Dr. Rachel Zoffness
Q: Can you walk us through a practical approach a patient can start with to address chronic pain?
Start with the pain recipe concept: identify bio, psych, and social ingredients that amplify pain, then progressively replace high-pain ingredients with low-pain ones, prioritizing movement, sleep, social connection, and mindfulness in a doable plan.
On the New Science of Pain and How to Heal | Dr. Rachel Zoffness
Q: How do safety and threat affect pain, and how can people create safety to reduce pain?
Threat amplifies the brain's pain alarm, while safety signals calm it. Practices like mindfulness, body awareness, and supportive, trusting clinical relationships help restore safety and lower pain volume.
On the New Science of Pain and How to Heal | Dr. Rachel Zoffness
Q: What do we get wrong about pain and what are the myths or misunderstandings you see most often?
Pain is not purely biomedical; it's biopsychosocial, with the brain constructing pain and emotions, social factors, and environment all influencing the experience. Understanding this helps patients regain agency and target multiple areas of care.
On Love, Storytelling, and Radical Curiosity | Baktash Ahadi
Q: What makes storytelling effective in opening hearts and connecting people across divides?
Storytelling is effective because it slows us down, invites empathy, and creates intimacy that helps people see each other as human. It shifts focus from merely eliciting emotion to uncovering truth and shared meaning, which fosters curiosity and reduces fear.
[Best of] On the Power of Love | Stephen G. Post
Q: What does Pure Unlimited Love mean in practical terms for daily life?
It refers to seeing the well-being of others as deeply meaningful as one's own, guiding everyday actions through compassion, listening, and kindness.
