  • Conservation in the spotlight

This show is the only thing that keeps me going when I am down in the museum basement for hours on end photographing artefacts and archives. I am a collections researcher, not a conservator, but this podcast has made me aware of just how important conservators are to making my work possible. I love all the hosts and special guests and each episode is wonderfully engaging. Thank you Kloe, Jenny, Christina and Jane for all the hard work that undoubtedly goes in to making this podcast!

  • Not just for conservators! Recommended.

Smart, interesting, accessible, and fun! And great for a wider audience than just museum conservators--I think teachers, professors, writers, historians--anyone interested in issues of history, conservation, and how to effectively communicate the lessons of the past would enjoy these excellent conversations.

  • I love this!

Wow- I’m so happy I found this podcast. As an architectural conservator, my job is even more obscure than being an objects conservator. There is so much cross over between the fields that the information presented on this podcast is very relevant to me. If you want to have an architectural conservator on your show I’d be honored to speak with you! I can tell you all about mortars, paint analysis, stone consolidation...and other insanely specific topics! Keep up the good work!

  • If you an interested in old stuff . . .

The C Word is one of my favourite podcasts. It deals with geeky things such as erasers, what to do with good in a museum, healthy and safety issues with chemicals in museum conservation. It makes me sad at times to think that these people are not paid what they ought to be nor respected as much as they ought to be -- if only people would listen to what they know and what they say. The podcast is also very interactive. They want to know their listeners' experiences. Give a listen.
