I loved RM Price for years. I Found his open mind to be so fun and engaging and found his disregard for political correctness valid and constructive especially when critiquing religious claims. But a casual weakness for right wing extremist dogma has slipped into his commentary. I’m not afraid to hear it, but it serves only to pollute what was otherwise a free wheeling exploration of biblical origins. When a person reveals a belief in racial superiority, no matter how subtle, they indict their o... more
Doctor Doctor Bob hasn’t podcasted in a while - I hope he’s ok. Dip back into past episodes for a feast of Biblical exegesis guaranteed to blow your tiny mind.
Bias nonsensical thought points. The perfect example of this podcast is an artist who loved painting, until he realized he’s a terrible painter. So now he throws tantrums and created a podcast bashing the very act of what he once enjoyed.
My take on these podcast sounds like this
Paint brushes are stupid, did they actually use different types of hairs, did these hairs even exist in that time. They probably didn’t even have paint brushes but glued the hairs to their fingers and painted.

Great podcast. Fundamentalist zealots (Christian or political leftist) may disagree.
Used to enjoy his show until I discovered Price has deeply rooted alt-right views. So he exchanged a trumped-up bogus authoritarian faith based religion for bogus authoritarian faith based political dogma including the Trumped-up politics of today. He is unable or unwilling to examine his own bias and devotion to his right wing politics to discern the truth and shun the mind-rotting conspiracy theories that have destroyed the Republican Party. Someone so deeply flawed has nothing to offer me.
This gentleman illuminates the darker recesses of religion formation. He is to be lauded. There should be statues.!
Great podcast!
Bob Price does a great job in analyzing the Bible
objectively … much more valuable that mmm Sunday school
Been a fan of Bob and the Bible Geek since I first heard him on Aeon Byte 5 or so years ago. His back catalogue of episodes is so huge that I'm still working my way through them all these years later. Mythicism for the win.
So thankful for such a incredibly entertaining podcast, no fluff just pearls! Nothing held back by a great scholar who has spent life in the depths of Christian literature and carefully navigates all things perplexing with his sharp analysis for the enlightenment and entertainment of all in his path.
I have learned so much from this podcast. Keep it up!
Any black people in the Bible?
I enjoyed Price’s Bible commentary for many years and chose to ignore his right wing political views. Recently he has gone too far and made openly racist statements and advocated violence as well as promoting the break up of the USA. Goodbye. I will miss your biblical insights but to continue to listen would be condoning evil.
There’s a lot to like about the show. He has a lot of knowledge about the Bible. But what I also like about him is he will say what he thinks the answer is, but then add that we really can’t know for sure. More biblical scholars should add that to what they say since there really is a lot we don’t know about early Christianity.I also like his personality and humor that he adds to the show.
Great content but please put the topics into the name of the podcast. I just see a list of podcasts whose titles are merely calendar dates. This isnt helpful as I dont know which ones Im interested in
