  • So glad these are unlocked!

This is the best Beatles podcast out there. Definitely prefer it to his old cohosts’s show. Better personality and better guests

  • Best

I don’t know what everyone is talking about. I subscribed and I was very happy with the content. After a while I lost my job and had to unsubscribe. It was only whatever you could give which was reasonable. Glad to see there’s more content? I just got notified of six or seven podcasts. Been a Beatles fan since’64 and started playing guitar in’65. SATB was where I was indoctrinated. lol.

  • Out of My Head

Pathetic and emblematic of Lennon bias! No empathy or compassion for Paul. PR tropes, and comparing him to Lennon, Lennon, this, Lennon that. Lennon is always in Paul’s story, Paul needs John, never vice versa, spare me.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Buskin with The Beatles #38 - Things We Said Today: The 1965 and 1966 U.S. Press Conferences
Q: John, do you think about the youthful Americans who are coming across the border into Canada to escape the draft?
I think anybody who doesn't feel like fighting or feels that the fighting is wrong has the right not to go in the army.
Buskin with The Beatles #44 - Hooks, Lines and Zingers: Those Beatles Choruses, Pt. 2
Q: Do you see an evolution in that respect, specifically with regard to the choruses, or was it constant?
There was a progression in the Beatles' choruses, becoming more sophisticated as they grew in confidence and creativity.
Buskin with The Beatles #43 - Hooks, Lines and Zingers- Those Beatles Choruses, Pt. 1
Q: What do you suspect when Paul is coming up with Hey Jude in his head, does he think this is missing a chorus or he's just feeling it?
I think Paul doesn't need a chorus, as his verses are as strong as anyone's chorus, so a chorus would feel like one section too many.
Buskin with The Beatles #43 - Hooks, Lines and Zingers- Those Beatles Choruses, Pt. 1
Q: Can you give us an example of what we were talking about in these categories?
Absolutely, songs like I Want to Hold Your Hand, which has a verse, a chorus, and a bridge, are great examples of structured songwriting.
Buskin with The Beatles #47 - The McCartney Legacy, Pt. 1
Q: What were the biggest surprises in the story that you covered so far in the book?
Some surprises included discovering the nuances behind popular anecdotes about McCartney's work, such as how recording sessions were far more complex and demanding than previously understood, highlighting his meticulous nature.
