Hosted by award-winning author Robert Rodriguez, Something About The Beatles is an intelligent but entertaining examination of The Beatles' music and career. Smart, funny and surprising - just like the Fab Four.

Beatle proteges Badfinger were an Apple band that simultaneously produced some of the finest pop/rock of their era while beset by management malfeasance leading directly to their decimation by suicide. It was fifty years ago that Pete Ham, their song... more
My guest has produced one of those rare books in The Beatles' literary canon not penned by an insider (or by someone named Lewisohn) that has arrived with a tidal wave of press; in advance and since. Ian Leslie, who in the past has written about psyc... more
On April 10, 2025, the film One To One: John and Yoko was released in US theaters. Gary Wenstrup (SATB Olympiad series) attended a screening, and in this SATB Special, have a discussion on what we saw: what was good - what we thought was less so - wh... more

I have listened to a lot of different Beatles podcasts but I have basically whittled it down to SATB. I generally agree with the sentiments (not always) but I just really enjoy the breadth of subjects covered. My advice if you are not keen on the early ones, try some of the later casts where RR presents them on his own. Great podcast.
I can’t get over the multiple perspectives that are provided on this show. How cool is that. We need all these ideas to better understand our Beatles world…. And Robert brings that. Perfect? What is? But exploratory and curious? Yes! You do not have to like it all to appreciate the efforts. I like to know what is out there, especially if I disagree with it. I feel like I just understand the field better. I also love listen to all the first generation fans and many of the female voices! Candy Leo... more
The best thing about Something About the Beatles is that it makes me think. I have studied the Beatles to a great extent and find Robert and his guests add layers of nuance to the experience! I enjoy those whose views widely differ from mine as much as the ones who hit the nail on the head! lol How many decades can this continue? Let’s see! Cheers!
RR is a fool.
Love the pod but giving a David Whelan a platform to spread his unsubstantiated “second shooter” theory of John Lennon’s murder is a serious error in judgment.
