  • Dark horse

Tired of people trashing, comparing, critizing McCartney, then saying don’t ge me wrong, I love him. No you don’t you use him to denigrate and compare, elevating George by trashing McCartney.

  • Great podcast!

Overall loved the podcast, except the Andy Miller episode talking about the Hunter Davies book. That guy is such a tool. I only got thru 1/2 the episode before I couldn’t listen to his nonsense anymore.

  • Wonderful interviews

Really appreciate the interviewers soft hand style in letting the author flow and fully tell their tale without interruption other than to raise the next question. Having said that, when called upon it is clear that each party to the conversation is highly informed on music & the Beatles. Brilliant listening thank you . More please 🙏

Allison Bumsted 'TeenSet, Teen Fan Magazines, and Rock Journalism: Don't Let the Name Fool You'
Q: How did the teen magazines like Teenset react to the Beatles coming to America?
The reaction was swift; magazines began featuring the Beatles rapidly, often not much in terms of coverage initially but certainly incorporated them into several issues soon after their arrival.
Allison Bumsted 'TeenSet, Teen Fan Magazines, and Rock Journalism: Don't Let the Name Fool You'
Q: What made you want to tell the story of Teen Magazines and what made you want to focus on Teenset in particular?
I was intrigued by the narrative around rock criticism and realized there was a significant absence of discussion regarding teen fan magazines like Teenset, which led me to explore its rich content and its impact on the Beatles phenomenon.
Seth Rogovoy - 'Within You Without You'
Q: What do you think led to George contributing three songs to Revolver?
I think John and Paul recognized George's growth as a songwriter and were open to his contributions, as they liked his Indian influence on their music.
Seth Rogovoy - 'Within You Without You'
Q: How did your liking of George lead into the book?
My fascination with George continued throughout his solo career and I felt compelled to write about his significant contributions which are often overlooked.
Yvonne Innes - 'Dip My Brain In Joy'
Q: What was life like for Neil in that band?
Yvonne describes it as lovely and fun, mentioning the hard work they endured despite their youth and enthusiasm.
