  • THIS IS NOT COUNSELING

This guy has no credibility. He is not trauma informed in the slightest. Nothing about this is counseling he says it in the disclaimer it’s for entertainment purposes only. That’s so great how people’s real life childhood trauma and lifelong struggles now served up as entertainment…got it.

  • Wonderful help

I’m a disabled veteran, married to my highschool sweetheart, who cheated on me twice, once before our marriage, and a period after… just found out last thanksgiving. Found out that I’m a people pleaser and never thought that possible, as I was an 11b Infantryman. Never had an issue standing my ground, except with my marriage. Been married since 1999 when we found out she was pregnant, and I came ‘to the rescue’ . Thought for years that I was the white knight, finally realized that I was the cour... more

  • Wow!!

I have been struggling my whole life. I have real issues with both of my parents, I got off the phone with my mom who is in severe denial and searched up denial on podcasts so I could understand. The generational denial episode came up… I’ve been binge listening ever since. Bought the book and and hoping to change my mental state and be the best I can be for my kids. I relate to almost every episode in one way or another. What wisdom you have Sven, thank you!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q&A: Going Slow in Relationships, and More
Q: Robin Kiefer on Facebook asked, what is a guy actually here when a woman says she wants to take it slow?
The right guy should be willing to match that pace as well; if a man wants to go faster, that can be a red flag that your speeds aren't aligned, and you should have a conversation to clarify expectations.
Q&A: Anger, Betrayal, and More
Q: What should a parent do if their child feels hurt after a bad relationship and they're worried about brainwashing?
Validate feelings, avoid fixing, and invite open dialogue; focus on helping the child find their own voice, while the parent also processes their own reactions through journaling and honest questions.
Q&A: Anger, Betrayal, and More
Q: How do you help a teen with anger, and how to trust again after multiple betrayals?
Encourage healthy expression of anger in the teen and model journaling; for trust, address past hurts, journal deeply, and practice gradual, reciprocal trust-building steps with clear boundaries.
Q&A: Anger, Betrayal, and More
Q: How can you know you're healed after betrayal trauma and a long-term trauma bond?
Healing shows as a balance of fear with willingness to be vulnerable, increased peace, and the continued work of flushing out fears and painful memories, not just avoiding them; journaling and memory-work remain essential.
Q&A: Anger, Betrayal, and More
Q: How do you break patterns learned in childhood, like people-pleasing and avoidance?
You don't just change surface behaviors; you identify the core beliefs driving them, trace their origins to pain and fear, and use journaling and letters to de-charge those emotional charges before re-learning healthier patterns.
