Pressing questions for the Arizona Diamondbacks after All-Star break
Q: What are the playoff odds for the Diamondbacks going into the second half?
The odds are around 22%, calculated as an average of three trackers, which is a notable drop from the 50+% range they briefly achieved; the team needs to sustain winning to raise those odds again.
How does Nolan Arenado fit the Diamondbacks?
Q: What version of Nolan Arenado is this team going to get?
There are concerns about his age and performance last year, but his defensive abilities are undeniable and can provide value.
Is the Alex Bregman-Diamondbacks link serious? We ask Bob Nightengale
Q: If you had to guess, where do you imagine Alex Bregman ends up landing?
I would say he probably goes back to Boston, but it's not a natural fit.
Is the Alex Bregman-Diamondbacks link serious? We ask Bob Nightengale
Q: Is there any possible way to keep Cattell and also add Alex Bregman?
You could, but still you're talking about an extra minimum $30 million AAV.
Is the Alex Bregman-Diamondbacks link serious? We ask Bob Nightengale
Q: What can you tell us about this and how serious this might be between the two sides?
It's not serious yet; it would only get serious if they move Cattell Marte.
