Love how these guys jump right into it and don’t waste time shooting the breeze or trying to intertwine comedy in their segments (like Bickley and Marotta). Phoenix and it’s sports media are pretty bland and the fans have accepted that. Gambo comes in loud and brash but really he’s just trying to be a big fish in a very small pond. You listen to his takes and it’s pretty generic and predictable, the guy is pretending to put on this tough guy NY Act and it just doesn’t fly. I get why he left NY. A lot of people don’t like Gambo because he is pompous and likes to brag about his hot young wife, his connections he uses to get inside info, his vacations, his house(s), his goats, the stories he breaks, his health for his age, his physical prowess, his lack of education, his boxing career, his mafia connections, his hobbies, his musical taste, his wife’s hobbies, his childhood friends and probably some other stuff but I enjoy listening to him.
