  • A podcast for baseball lovers

I’ve been listening to Jack and Jesse’s podcast since episode 1 and, now into the 2026 season they definitely have found their rhythm and have themselves an informative, entertaining podcast. This is more in the “analysis-commentary” and not “dudes saying-whatever-is-in-their-head” style. So listen elsewhere if you want that.

Jesse and Jack are passionate fans of the game—this shines through every episode. But I like that they try to ground their analysis and criticism in data and the real-wor... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Corbin Carroll Go-Ahead Grand Slam Lifts D-backs Over Blue Jays
Q: What do you think, Jack, about the current trajectory of the team and its ability to maintain this level of performance?
The pitching has been better than expected, the bullpen has solidified, and while the offense has carried heavy production from runners in scoring position in some games, there's a need for more walks and depth across the lineup to sustain this success.
Corbin Carroll Go-Ahead Grand Slam Lifts D-backs Over Blue Jays
Q: Here is one. Jack, early in the season, you briefly predicted the team would finish with 75 wins. What's your take on that now? Have your thoughts changed?
The team was projected for around 80 wins, and while pitching has exceeded expectations, offense has shown signs of regression, especially in walk rate, so it's reasonable to revise upwards as health improves, but the overall pace remains uncertain until more consistent plate discipline returns.
Mailbag: Do D-backs Have Enough Pitching To Contend In 2026?
Q: Do you think our rotation will be good enough to get us to the playoffs?
The hosts agree the rotation projects poorly on paper and that several pitchers would need to outperform expectations to have a realistic path to the postseason, with injuries and bullpen depth as key variables.
Zac Gallen Unravels In Fifth As Yamamoto, Dodgers Crush D-backs on Opening Day
Q: What stood out about Zac Gallen's first four innings and what changed in the fifth?
Gallen pitched effectively through four, showing good velocity and a mix of cutters and sliders, but he was undone in the fifth by a sequence of hits and a costly hanging curve, which sparked a four-run inning and shifted the game's momentum.
David Peralta Stops By To Talk Retirement, D-backs Legacy & What's Next
Q: What is your opinion on the new ABS system coming to baseball?
He expresses skepticism of the ABS system, valuing the human element of refereeing in the game.
