Dear Mr. Jeff Torowski,
After listening to some of your episodes, I felt compelled to write to congratulate you on the work you do.
You are a master. Thank you for making me enjoy and travel through long hours while performing almost robotic tasks at my current job. It comforts me to think that I still have many episodes left to discover and enjoy.
I also listen to your podcast to fine-tune my English listening skills, as I am a Spanish native from Spain currently living in Miami. Unlike many... more
Honestly, I don’t know how I got so lucky to stumble across this show on YouTube and then discover the podcast. It’s hands-down the most unique, authentic, and well-researched content I’ve found on documentaries, shows, and celebrities. Passionate, intelligent, and truly one of a kind—number one in my book.
I really wanted to like this podcast. I tried the Mickey Rourke episode and had to quit like 20 minutes in. When I am clicking on this episode it’s to hear about the actor. In just the first half hour, there were so many off topic rants. I think scripting these a bit would make them so much more interesting.
The episodes about movies here I've had a chance to check out are legitimately good. But the true crime episodes (Chris Watts & Diane Schuler) are FANTASTIC. I appreciate the feel & style of the tone. It's raw, it's real and I really do love the way Jeff Torowski's voice sounds. Nicely done.
I have listened to a lot of podcasts and have to say that Jeff, and his approach to cases such as the Chris Watts case, are unique, thought provoking AND entertaining. He uncovers elephants in the room until there is a stampede.
I am now working my way through his other episodes and have been thoroughly enjoying. Would recommend for a straight up and honest view on interesting topics.
Thanks Jeff

Fans can expect long-form, opinionated deep-dives into actors, films, and documentary-driven stories. Episodes mix personal anecdotes, production histories, and critique of cinema and true-crime narratives, often with tangents and a distinctive, contrarian hosting voice. The show frequently centers on classic Hollywood figures and landmark films, offering behind-the-scenes context, research-driven detail, and thoughtful takes on the craft, culture, and industry dynamics that shape acting and filmmaking. A notable edge is the host's unapologetic, sharp-witted perspective, which can be highly engaging for listeners who enjoy candid, thoughtful commentary with well-researched anecdotes, though some episodes polarize audiences due to tone and s... more
