  • PBJ on Colden

My first summit sandwich was strawberry jelly, chunky peanut butter, and whole wheat bread.

Hiking from the LOJ to Colden, late June 2012.

Thank you, James, for putting together this wonderful audio project that helps us feel like we’re in the High Peaks all year round, from all corners of the world.

  • Wanting more!!

My wife and I started listening to your podcast this past year. We have found ourselves wanting to do more in the Adirondacks. We start out as novice hikers, and realize that during our journey to complete the Adirondack fire tower challenge we wanted to do more. My wife and I started with Cascade and Porter and became aspiring ADK 46 ers. We are both not the most physically fit people in the world. Q: So, for the listeners who might not be exactly familiar with the story, why don't you give us a quick rundown as to what was this unsupported through hike of the forty-six?
This all starts in 2009. I hiked Mount Marcy with a friend and ended up running down in the rain, opening my eyes to trail running. And from 2009 to 2020, I attempted the 46 High Peaks unsupported multiple times.
