  • Tech from a Canadian point of view

I like this podcast overall and in particular the Canadian-specific discussions about the wireless industry here and CRTC.

  • Poor journalism.

These guys are pure amateurs. Lots of information is wrong or misreported, opinions are uninformed. Most recent podcast talked about Slack-Salesforce merger, but none of the hosts bothered to research what Salesforce is. Superficial. Don’t waste your time.

  • Hard to hear!!!

Not bad information BUT lousy acoustics. It's like they use one microphone and someone is real close and everyone else is far away and usually talking in a low voice.

VERY AGGRAVATING trying to listen in an environment that has some noise. If you want to be professional then get your act together and BE professional!

  • Used to be great, now it's meh

The origina hosts were much stronger, and seemed to have greater knowledge of the sector, both in Canada and interntionally. Above all, the greatest problem I have now with this podcast is when they talk about international stories or companies which they really CAN'T add insight or nuance to, but that never seems to stop them. As a result it sounds a lot like they are apping other sites and podcasts, repeating things they have heard or read elsewhere as fact. Drives me nuts. I'd much rather a p... more

  • SyrupCast is A great podcast on all things mobile

  • Please don't degenerate

I enjoy this podcast. Lately, however, it's ben taking on some of the idiot tendencies that have also infected The Vergecast. Doug in particular seems to have adopted the worst of The Verge's once proud podcast into his persona. It's bad enough that one of the most informative and influencial tech podcasts has degenerated from relevant, intelligent discussion to a series of ill concieved catch phrases and segments that don't add to its value proposition - please Syrupcast, don't follow that lead... more

  • Great podcast from people with actual knowledge.

I was shocked at how well informed the hosts are given that this is a podcast about phones.

Since the hiring of Brian and Anand by Apple, I've been looking for something to replace the Anandtech podcast in terms of intelligent commentary on mobile, including on a carrier level. Anyway, this one is as enjoyable as the Anandtech one was and Canadian to boot.

Keep up the great casting guys.

  • Supreme

I can't get enough of the industry and spectrum talk. I've been following the Canadian mobile industry for well over 7 years now all thanks to mobile syrup. I could listen to a full pod just about industry news. Keep it up!

  • Abooot time

I was waiting for a mobilesyrup pod to come for years. Enjoyed the site and now I can say I enjoy the REAL conversations on the pod.

Every topic is discussed thoroughly and usually from many points of view. Very easy to listen too and always learning something on every pod.

Came on iTunes just to review it. Cause you should listen to it...pocket casts not have a way to rate pods or what?

  • Decent

Decent podcast. I feel like Daniel defends the Canadian carriers a little too much though.

  • Best Telecom coverage.

Fantastic coverage of Canadian telecom. They also do general tech coverage, but where they really shine, (if you already listen to multiple tech podcasts), is covering Canadian Telecom.

  • Great Canadian perspective

Really enjoy how this podcast is geared towards the Canadian mobile industry. For a Canadian who constantly hears about everything the US gets and wonders about Canada's tech, this is a great podcast! Only complaint would be the so-so mic quality, but that's accpetable. Enjoying it so far; keep up the good work!
