From the time Daddy Grace founded the United House of Prayer in 1919, his life was not without controversy: from his appearance, to how much money he made (and the taxes he paid – or didn’t pay), to suspicions of Communism, and worse. In fact, Daddy ... more
Daddy Grace’s relationship with money – how much he seemed to have, how his followers practically threw cash at him – bothered many people outside the church, including Marcy’s relatives. But what was all that money used for? Sure, Daddy Grace had f... more

I thought this would be a podcast about the person on the cover art or some interesting facts about him. Instead it was a boring slow paced walk about explaining someone’s random family tree. I kept hoping to hear why it was 5 stars.
Really personal and fascinating.
This show is hardly about Sweet day Grace and more about the cape verdian culture/heritage for the narrator. I think she says cape verdian every other word
The story is told so well, there’s a lot I didn’t know about Pastor Grace. I’m glad they took the time to shed light on his life and journey. Not to mention the music is amazing! Love it!
I remember hearing about Daddy Grace as a child growing up in Washington, DC and all that I heard scared me. Then as an adult another scary story that happened to the person sharing her encounter. This podcast has done him justice to get the whole picture of the human being. The history of Cape Verde was really interesting. I once worked with a woman with roots there her grandfather’s surname was Teixeria. Really appreciate all the research that went into this content
