  • Let the speakers talk …

The host is too talkative, too argumentative, and is much less thoughtful and insightful than he thinks. He presupposes and theorizes to constant dead ends.

  • Let the guests speak.

Great content but I feel the interviewer interjects too much and talks over the guest. Especially the Rowing Blazers episode.

  • THE industry expert

Tim Mosso may know all the watch references but no one understands the watch industry like Ariel - and shares it! I appreciate his open mind and sharp new takes which he shares in written and audio form. Superlative is a deep dive for industry members and watch fans alike. If you are either, it’s a must listen. Thanks for all you do Ariel!

  • I’ve tried but I just can’t!

It appears to me that over the past decade or so there has been a trend for interviewers to pontificate during their question to their guest/interviewee. Often giving the appearance that they are trying to highlight themselves as opposed to the guest. I as a listener cannot get past this trend any longer. Mr. Adams who seems like a very nice and knowledgeable person is guilty of this so often that I cannot get past it.

Richard Benc of Studio Underd0g on Turning a Passion Project Into a Global Watch Brand
Q: Why have collaborations remained a sustainable part of your strategy, and where do you see them going?
Collaborations become meaningful storytelling when they result in products that wouldn't exist otherwise, not just logo placements. They help build credibility for a young brand and will continue to be a core strategy, especially as we expand our own manufacturing and showroom experiences to demonstrate how we're making things under one roof.
Richard Benc of Studio Underd0g on Turning a Passion Project Into a Global Watch Brand
Q: Why did you acquire Horologium, and what does that bring to Studio Underd0g?
Horologium provided critical control over assembly and after-sales support. Acquiring them moved assembly in-house, offered a training program for new technicians, and reduced reliance on third-party suppliers, giving us greater reliability and scalability as we grow.
Richard Benc of Studio Underd0g on Turning a Passion Project Into a Global Watch Brand
Q: What exactly is your definition of the drop model and how does it differ from other sales approaches?
The drop model is a nine-hour window where the order book opens, orders are guaranteed within that window, and then we fulfill on a first-come, first-serve basis. We don't stockpile massively in advance; instead, we forecast demand from actual orders and gradually allocate production, delivering portions over time to manage lead times and keep prices accessible while preserving credibility.
Abduljabar “Jabs” Totonji on Building Watch Communities and Navigating Today’s Luxury Market
Q: Why do you think people form watch clubs?
People come together to share their love for watches, to validate their purchases, and to build a community around a shared passion.
Abduljabar “Jabs” Totonji on Building Watch Communities and Navigating Today’s Luxury Market
Q: How important is it to see watches in person before making a purchase?
It's crucial, as seeing the watch helps validate the purchase decision and ensures the buyer has an informed experience.
