  • Great Show

Love this show! The conversations are thoughtful, insightful and despite a background in environmental science and sustainability I learn so much every episode. My only issue is that Josh’s audio needs to be tweaked. Guests voices are always loud and clear but Josh’s voice is hard to hear - like you’re using your laptop mic and 4 ft from it. Fix that please, but otherwise keep these coming!

  • Forest products

I enjoy the thoughtful podcast on the Sterling company and the mention of regenerative forestry. There is a professional certificate in sustainable forestry , and industry standard that makes sure forests will be there for generations to come. The professionals and the forest companies that qualify for this are doing reliable work for the economy and for the environment. Look for “sustainable forestry “ products.

How to Burp a Cow: Hoofprint Biome Makes More Milk, Less Methane
Q: Tell us a little bit about your background, Kathryn.
Kathryn explains her animal science background, NC State PhD, and how she and her co-founder transitioned from purely academic work to commercializing biology-driven solutions that improve both farm economics and climate outcomes.
The Largest Private Recycling Company in America Just Showed Up
Q: How did Circular Services become the largest privately held recycling company in the United States?
By stealthily acquiring regional recycling and composting assets, then publicly consolidating them into a national platform that could win major municipal contracts and monetize recycled materials.
The Missing Renewable: Wave Power Comes Ashore
Q: What markets and customers are you targeting for first deployments, and how do you plan to scale beyond initial projects?
Initial farms in Portugal and Scotland demonstrate bankability, followed by a path to 100+ MW scale using a dense array of buoys and offshore grid connections, while engaging utilities, developers, and data centers as core customer groups.
The Missing Renewable: Wave Power Comes Ashore
Q: How does the technology achieve higher efficiency and what enables its deployment at scale?
The technology uses stored pressure to produce energy in both directions, a spherical buoy with strong storm survivability, and a phase-control system that amplifies motion; combined, these elements enable higher energy output per unit mass and modular deployment.
The Missing Renewable: Wave Power Comes Ashore
Q: Tell us a little bit about your company and what you are trying to accomplish with wave energy.
CorPower Ocean is developing turnkey wave energy solutions with a focus on a pressure-based, biomimetic approach inspired by the heart, enabling energy production in both directions and aiming for storm-resilient, scalable power with a modular core-pack system.
