  • God Be Praised

Pastor Wolfmueller and Pastor Packer are a breath of fresh air. While remaining solidly confessional in their delivery, they present as approachable, caring - you know, pastoral. That cannot always be said for many confessional pastors who would rather just throw theology at you than care for the needs and wellbeing (even the emotions!!) of their parishioners. Thank you for this!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q&A: What do Lutherans teach about salvation? Is Christ at the right hand of God? Proof texting. More.
Q: What is proof texting and how should we approach New Testament quotes of the Old Testament?
Proof texting should be careful not to take verses out of context; the New Testament writers quote within the larger context of the text and its broader themes, expecting readers to understand the surrounding passages.
Q&A: What do Lutherans teach about salvation? Is Christ at the right hand of God? Proof texting. More.
Q: What do Lutherans believe about salvation?
Salvation is the work of Christ, received by grace through faith, and not through our own efforts; Christ is the Savior of sinners and the universal scope of atonement is emphasized.
Q&A: Should you invite the Mormons inside and evangelize to them? Is the Lord's Supper Cannibalism? How should Christians respond to superstitions? More.
Q: What does the Lord's Supper actually mean for Lutherans?
Lutherans teach sacramental union, that Jesus' body and blood are truly given in the Supper through the bread and wine, not cannibalism; it is a mystery joined to faith and a pledge of forgiveness, received by faith.
Q&A: Should you invite the Mormons inside and evangelize to them? Is the Lord's Supper Cannibalism? How should Christians respond to superstitions? More.
Q: Should she have invited the Mormons into her house?
The pastors suggest that inviting them is not inherently wrong and can be a gracious, educational moment, but it should be balanced with discernment and not viewed as an obligation; hospitality can be extended while preserving boundaries and directing conversation toward the gospel.
Q&A: Can we love apart from God? Is there a difference between murder and killing? Do Lutherans believe in individual illumination? More.
Q: What do you mean exactly by saying that the clarity of the scripture is also lost when an inner illumination of the Holy Spirit is needed to understand the text?
It means that while the Holy Spirit gives faith to believe the text, the interpretation and understanding should be accessible to all readers.
