Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Laraaji Takes Us to the Cosmos
Q: How do you approach the idea of receiving and vulnerability in your practice?
Receiving is about surrender and the receptive nature; instead of giving commands, I offer suggestions and invite listeners into a space where language yields to presence.
Hip-Hop Visionary Ishmael Butler on Finding Freedom in Music
Q: Could you tell us a story of balancing leadership (cancer) and adaptability (pisces) in parenting?
I try to model safety and honesty while allowing my kids to discover their own paths, offering support without imposing my own desires, so they can grow into who they are meant to be.
Hip-Hop Visionary Ishmael Butler on Finding Freedom in Music
Q: What has your relationship been to cosmology or the cosmos, or this idea of coming from a bigger place than what's on your birth certificate?
I grew up surrounded by a family that hinted at open, natural approaches to the unseen, which later fed my curiosity about cosmology and myth as a source of creative energy.
Briahna Joy Gray Is a Leo Stellium and Proud
Q: What drew Briahna to continue working in political media after the Bernie campaign and during the Gaza reporting periods?
She emphasizes a core commitment to anti-imperialism, Medicare for All, and Green New Deal principles, and explains that staying true to those values, even when it's financially or professionally challenging, motivated the move to Bad Faith as a long-term platform.
Briahna Joy Gray Is a Leo Stellium and Proud
Q: Does Briahna feel the conviction around controversial stances buffer or amplify fear when censored or fired?
She notes that transparency comes with risks, but her values-driven choices and a supportive community help sustain her, and Bad Faith provides a space to speak freely without fear of professional repercussions.
