  • Where’s Bobby?

Am I the only one who wonders why this show continues to include Bobby Herbert’s name when he only appears a few times a month (at best)? Also. Steve Geller is probably a great guy but he fumbles over words and says the same things (“obviously”, “man oh man”) over and over. Mike D and Charlie get are great, though.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 4: The Jaguars are a good measuring stick for the Saints this week
Q: Developing chemistry with the new quarterbacks, how's that been, and what has stood out in that process?
Bryce Lance notes strong leadership from Tyler Shough and the room's supportive environment, with concrete steps like team-hosted activities and early on-field reps helping him build trust with the quarterbacks.
Hour 4: The Jaguars are a good measuring stick for the Saints this week
Q: I know your dad was a defensive back, your brother, a quarterback. So what were those backyard games like growing up?
Bryce Lance describes a highly competitive family dynamic with constant battles between siblings that sharpened his competitiveness and ultimately strengthened their friendship.
LSU's cornerback depth is the team's biggest question mark
Q: break down the cornerback position, because that's seemingly, if there's an area that has virtually no depth to it, it's really the cornerback position
Andre explains that the cornerback depth is the biggest question mark entering the season, with true freshmen and inexperienced players needing to step up, while the staff emphasizes development and depth in practice.
Brandon Staley: Our youngest players are the ones that can make the "biggest jump"
Q: How much does Tyler Shuck's growth as a read option threat help the offense, given how defenses must account for mobile quarterbacks?
The quarterback run threat forces defenses to adjust, with examples from Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts cited as benchmarks for how a dynamic run game can elevate the offense and create favorable situations in red zone and short-yardage downs.
Brandon Staley: Our youngest players are the ones that can make the "biggest jump"
Q: As you look to your second year, and this is kind of a tricky one, but position wise, who do you look for to make the biggest jump?
The coach answers that it is the youngest players who are most likely to make the biggest jumps, as they have the most to gain and are still learning, regardless of age.
