Matt Moscona is exactly correct as always with his LSU/college football content and in this case opinion that we need to have a predetermined formula/metric to determine the 12 (or 16) college football playoff teams. It should be the best teams determined objectively and not include “participation trophy” teams who aren’t the best teams. I watch/listen to Matt’s content via YouTube and Apple Podcasts which includes Morning Scone, AFR and Locked on LSU. I am a retired lifelong LSU fan and with my... more

Now that I live in Atlanta I listen to the Scone man to stay informed. Never knew how good he was until I compared him to the local offerings here in Atl. Keep it up and Geaux Tigers!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Trinidad Chambliss Response To Lane Kiffin + Michael Papierski On LSU Baseball Improvements
Q: What did Lane Kiffin actually say about recruitment and Oxford that sparked the discussion?
He was relaying conversations recruits had about moving to Oxford and their grandparents' objections, not asserting that Oxford itself was racist, which reframes the controversy around interpretation and hearsay in recruitment.
College football playoff potential guarantees + a look at LSU’s schedule + Jake Madison on what the Pelicans should do in free agency
Q: Is Zion Williamson a long-term centerpiece, and how does that affect roster construction?
Zion is viewed as a high-ceiling, franchise-changing talent, so the team is largely built around him, but there are questions about fit with younger players like Derek Queen and Jeremiah Fears and whether they can coexist long-term.
College football playoff potential guarantees + a look at LSU’s schedule + Jake Madison on what the Pelicans should do in free agency
Q: What are the realistic options in free agency to fix the center position?
Not much; free agents available are limited, and the team's cap space is tight, making it unlikely to land a true difference-maker without trades or sacrificing future assets.
College football playoff potential guarantees + a look at LSU’s schedule + Jake Madison on what the Pelicans should do in free agency
Q: What is the Pelicans' biggest need this off-season?
The main need identified is upgrading the center position to improve rebounding and interior defense, as well as addressing rim protection to complement Zion Williamson.
Could the Saints win the division this year? + Shea Dixon Breaks down latest on recruiting
Q: Which LSU recruit do you think is most pivotal to watch as signing day approaches and why?
Jaden Anding and Greedy James are pivotal because their commitments could significantly alter the defensive backfield depth and overall defensive ceiling for LSU; their decisions are indicative of NIL dynamics and premium-position importance.
