As a victim of Vineyard abuse and follower of stories coming out for years now, this podcast was a disappointment. Whistleblowers have shared the truth well before this podcast. The information needs to be out there, but the host was not the first and does not meet any real qualification of an investigative journalist, nor does he take feedback from victims well. Vineyard USA is disturbingly corrupt — beyond any repair. Victims and whistleblowers risked everything coming forward well before John... more
I have found this podcast both interesting and eye opening. I attended the Vineyard (Cambridge, MA and Arvada, CO) for 15 years. While I met many wonderful people, the true colors came out when my daughter came out as gay. At that point I tried hard to get an answer as to Vineyard’s stance on gay marriage. I should have known that a church that is not embracing the LGBTQ community openly has secrets. Thanks for uncovering what is hidden. The truth will set us free.
Spoiled Fruit: Faith and Power is a thoughtful and engaging podcast that explores faith, identity, and power with honesty and heart. The stories and experiences shared often mirrored my own, making each episode feel both validating and deeply meaningful. A powerful listen for anyone seeking insight and real conversation.
An honest look at how we can do better in caring, not just for one another, but the community in which we share life with. As human beings we are complex. As people of faith, we are even more complex…thankful to hear a podcast where honest conversations are taking place and ideas are shared on what is working “a day in the life of church-goers“ and where improvements need to be made if we are going to continue to love well and care for humanity using best practices and trauma informed care. Hard to call a series ‘great’ that retells in vivid detail the slow trainwreck on which you were a willing passenger, but it is indeed a great podcast.
My grandad survived 50 missions on a B24 out of Italy. He never spoke of it, but to fellow servicemen. I always wished he would tell us what it was like. I thought he was just a quiet man. But now… I understand.
Hearing others tell hard stories you can relate to, but don’t feel like sharing yourself, is very cathartic. I applaud the bravery o... more
