  • Somebody please tell Felix

I too often find myself turning this off because of FS’s driving, pompy, grating voice. Maybe he should have a listen - he might just irritate himself enough to make a change…

  • Entertaining but ill informed

While I enjoy the banter the conversation makes me wonder how much these people actually know their topic. Recently Felix equated market capitalization with debt repayment capability, which is catastrophically wrong. He stated confidently, there is no AI bubble, with little to back up such a huge assertion. And when a guest exclaimed “there is nowhere safe [to invest]”, no one challenged that idiotic statement.

  • Felix, please stop interrupting

This is a great show, but for so, so many months into years now, dear Felix you keep interrupting Elizabeth and Emily and it would be just so grand (and great for your show) if you could just… stop. Stop taking over ideas, and interrupting explanations, and going on tangents while your cohosts are speaking. Everyone on the show is great so… let everyone speak.

I wanted to leave this same comment last year, fyi, meaning nothing much has changed.

And last fyi Felix, this really isn’t awesome for t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Money Talks: Don't Be Evil-ish
Q: What do you see happening in the AI field for the next couple of years?
Wu notes the big unanswered question is whether AI will end up challenging Big Tech or reinforcing it, as major companies invest heavily in AI and determine its future direction.
Money Talks: Don't Be Evil-ish
Q: To what extent do you think that tendency toward extraction is really driven by, you know, a lot of these companies being public companies and putting shareholder interests first, which they're sort of required to do?
Wu believes that this tendency is completely a function of being a public company and prioritizing shareholders, which leads to extractive practices.
Money Talks: Don't Be Evil-ish
Q: So when you're talking about that, what sort of wealth redistribution are you thinking about specifically and what kind of policies?
Wu suggests focusing on power redistribution rather than just wealth redistribution, advocating for policies that aim for a balanced economy, such as breaking up monopolies and empowering bargaining parties against powerful companies.
The Coolest Thing in the World for an Econ Nerd
Q: When you cast your vote for what you think interest rates should be, who are you representing?
Mostly on behalf of the people of the United States. I am informed by the people in my district, but we're explicitly supposed to take a national view.
The Coolest Thing in the World for an Econ Nerd
Q: What do you tell those people who say, I don't trust central banking?
It probably depends on the nature of the conspiracy they employ because there are a lot of Fed haters that come from different perspectives.
