  • Unsubscribing

I keep listening because I think getting a full spectrum of views is important, but finally unsubscribing as Jake Sullivan is on as a guest to make a case for MBS/Saudi Arabia. It’s one thing for Sullivan to be one of the soulless ghouls who helped the US abet genocide in Gaza, but to also be simping for a country and leadership with blatant, explicit, murderous human rights violations… not interested in any outlet that continues to platform these losers.

  • Annoying

Show covers important topics. Hosts talk over each other and Emily’s voice is uncomfortably screechy.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Gabfest Reads | When Marriage Goes Stale and Middle Age Hits Hard
Q: Were you playing with the idea that maybe these conservative values have more universal validity than we might want to think?
Sittenfeld clarifies it was not her goal to promote conservative ideas, but rather to explore the complexity of characters who have intelligent yet flawed perceptions of their lives and relationships.
Gabfest Reads | When Marriage Goes Stale and Middle Age Hits Hard
Q: How did you come up with this list of advice about marriage?
Sittenfeld reflects on the somewhat sexist and heteronormative nature of some advice but acknowledges that many of the recommendations are still practical for a healthy marriage.
Seize and Sell
Q: Why do you believe the changes were made without the involvement of career experts?
Dr. Sharfstein suggests it was an unusual process, emphasizing the bizarre rationale for aligning with peer nations rather than leading in vaccination.
Seize and Sell
Q: What are the consequences of the changes in the vaccine schedule?
Dr. Sharfstein explains that it may lead to confusion and ultimately decrease vaccination rates, endangering herd immunity.
Kill Them All
Q: Emily, just from a law of war perspective, who is responsible for this?
There could be multiple layers of responsibility, and it might be found through an investigation, but ultimately, those in the chain of command may be culpable depending on the legality of their orders.
