  • Nobody cares about Iona

Please talk less about Iona on the college show. It’s gotten old. Plenty of other programs to talk about.

  • Awesome Rugby Show!

There are a lot of good rugby pods out there, but Matt’s show has to be top 1 or 2. Love the guests, the laughs and of course the insight. Matt is a fantastic host and great interviewer.

  • USA Rugby Media G.O.A.T.

Short, bald man full of funny quips and impressions continually questions why he started a show about rugby in New York. Interviewing a range of players and guests including (Sir) Lizard Lewis whose wit, candor and incredibly terse delivery is Scottish in every way possible.

Other recurring guests include a deranged (but lovable, like the way you like your gramps) Irishman, a gentle (also short and bald), kind and well informed Canadian, and the shockingly dry (but always informative) British ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MLR Weekly: Historic CBA Authors Co-Pres Graeme Bradbury, USRPA Exec Director Chris Mattina, News
Q: On a scale of one to 10, how satisfied are you in terms of what you were looking for?
Nothing's ever perfect, but I'm really excited about where we got to, probably a seven or an eight.
MLR Weekly: Historic CBA Authors Co-Pres Graeme Bradbury, USRPA Exec Director Chris Mattina, News
Q: Graeme, does that mean if the league suddenly starts to make money that there's a renegotiation that would happen?
There's no number of such. It's just an opportunity for the union to come back to us and present the case and we have an open dialogue again.
MLR Weekly: Ex Utah Warriors HC Greg Cooper (Now in Japan), NCR All-Stars Recap, MLR News
Q: How would your team, the Green Rockets, fare against the Warriors?
Cooper believes the Warriors would give the Rockets a good run for their money, especially if they were at full strength, considering the injuries that plagued the Warriors last season.
Rugby, Rugby Wrap Up, MLR Weekly, Will Magie, Chicago Hounds, Matt McCarthy
Q: Do you think that you'll attain the level of success where people will stop calling you Will Magie and start calling you by your real name?
It doesn't bother me either way. Hopefully the success comes and all the credit will go to the players and the coaching staff.
The Rugby Odds: Shameful Bulls/Stormers, Munster & Ronan Sick, Champions Cup, World Rugby's USA Plan
Q: What caught your eye on the rugby side of things this weekend?
There was two things. Number one, Bath absolutely just wanted to pummel somebody. The second thing was Leinster playing violently against La Rochelle.
