  • So well done!

Beautifully done! Hopkins is the author of some of my all-time favorite poems and I admit I was hesitant, especially when I heard music behind it, but I have listened to The Wreck of the Deutschland episode probably 15 times now and have nothing but growing appreciation of it (music included!) and to you for making it. It’s made it so much more accessible to me and your reading of it is spot on, if I’m any judge on that. It is wonderful to have his words in my head and his glorious, rich vision ... more

  • Lovely

Thank you for doing this. I recently decided to start reading through The Major Works of Gerard Manley Hopkins- hadn’t even begun- and stumbled upon your podcast. I am thrilled to have a companion on this little journey as well as help for exploring and understanding some of his works. I can’t wait to see what other poets you will feature in future seasons!

  • Beautiful and rich

This podcast has been such a joy. I did not know much about Gerard Manly Hopkins before listening but the thoughtful insights into his life and poetry have made me a fan. Each episode is well-crafted with the perfect balance of biographical information, insight into literary design, and readings of the poem itself. Thank you Andy Patton and the Rabbit Room Press for producing this gem. I eagerly await each new episode.
