The problem with revisiting older SciFi is that it’s so problematic. This story is very sexist even while trying to comment on sexism. Also ableism. Other isms. The anti-capitalistic & Bad Science themes are a bit overrun by corrupt overreaching government themes. There’s a “love conquers all” theme thats very trivialized by the underlying sexism. Realized I was spending the majority of my time rewinding so that I could catch what he just read or what the characters just said. I, too, gave up. I don't understand using this narrator. Choosing someone with an accent, who won't be understood by all, was a risky choice for reading a podiobook.
