Inspirational episode with Gentry - we’re on a first name basis already. With humor and gentle words, he himself is acting to nurture and support young Black doctoral students. He tells his story as casually as a tale any young wo(man) could adopt as their narrative. More such stories, please!
Rad Scientist does such a great job of balancing storytelling not only on the science itself, but superbly weaves in the inspiring stories of the San Diego scientists themselves. Each episode also highlights some of the important but often overlooked parts of being in science, such as social barriers, luck, failures, and perseverance.
As an astronomy/physics professor teaching in a community college that serves a diverse population, I found the episode on the Leaky Pipeline so helpful on how we can better serve our students. It provided helpful insights and multiple points of discussion on how we can make stem education more equitable.
I enjoyed having the science explained and getting to know the back story about the scientist. Enjoyed the light heartedness. And sound effects. Will be fun to meet new scientists and hear about their research on this series. LOVE THE 2nd Season- engaging and relevant and fun! 3rd Season is relevant, insightful and fun! Thanks.
Season 3 of this show is amazing. I enjoyed the thoughtful profiles of Black scientists and their personal experiences coming up in their careers. Stories like these need to be heard more broadly. And the production value is top notch!
