  • For real racers

Love this show, you can feel the respect between the racers during the interviews. Gives you a nice behind the scene peak into some racing insiders history etc. would love PT to get Mr Foyt on here, those two both gave no F’s and just wanted to win. And hey bring on Helio and Rick so all the living 4x 500 champs can chime in.

Sam Schmidt on Life After the Crash That Changed Everything | Racers Unchained with Paul Tracy
Q: How did the foundation evolve and why rehabilitation became central?
We shifted focus from immediate post-accident goals to long-term rehabilitation because sustained therapy and the potential to improve quality of life for others became the most impactful path forward, especially after seeing Robert Wickens' journey.
Sam Schmidt on Life After the Crash That Changed Everything | Racers Unchained with Paul Tracy
Q: What was the turning point after the accident for you personally?
The turning point was recognizing a chance to redirect energy from racing toward recovery and helping others; the family support and a strong drive to prove doctors and skeptics wrong kept me moving forward.
Graham Rahal on Sims, New Cars and the Future of IndyCar | Racers Unchained
Q: What does a typical day look like for you juggling racing and GRP?
He outlines a structured routine balancing GRP responsibilities with training and racing, noting the growth of his business has required delegation, while still prioritizing racing weekends and strategic planning for the team's future.
Graham Rahal on Sims, New Cars and the Future of IndyCar | Racers Unchained
Q: How do simulators fit into your team's approach, and how does that translate to real-world performance?
He explains that simulators are valuable for validation and setup work, but stresses that real-track feedback and the driver's feel for the car remain essential, with teams using sims to complement, not replace, on-track testing.
Graham Rahal on Sims, New Cars and the Future of IndyCar | Racers Unchained
Q: Where do you think IndyCar is at in terms of trying to get that audience back and achieve bigger TV numbers?
Rahal emphasizes a combination of performance enhancements (lighter cars, more power, greater driver challenge) and strategic event planning (new venues) to grow the sport, while acknowledging the need for strong TV partnerships and fan-centric changes.
