  • Where is the quiver?

Very enjoyable podcast with a host who does not intrude too much with his own opinions and personality. A rare treat, he stays out of the way and lets the guest do their thing.

He also has a great laugh! Very infectious.

My only small complaint; the show is called Quiver Cast… not enough examination of the guest’s choice of craft… the what and why.

That’s my only Quiver quibble 😁

  • Fun surf stories

The latest episode with David Nuuhiwa was amazing, especially considering that David has kinda disappeared from the surf scene except for a recent TSJ article. Mike’s cigarette soaked laugh makes me smile from ear-to-ear. The conversations are always fun and informational.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Jason Borte
Q: All right, everybody, welcome back to The QuiverCast. How did you get into surfing?
Jason describes being drawn into surfing through his older brother and the Virginia Beach scene, learning at 1st Street and gradually climbing the local ladder while being inspired by peers like Wes Lane.
Erik Of NOFX a.k.a. SMELLY
Q: How did you approach making the new film and releasing it as an event rather than a wide, instant rollout?
The idea was to create a moving event, a region-by-region rollout that felt like a tour in itself—building anticipation and giving fans a real experience rather than a generic release.
Erik Of NOFX a.k.a. SMELLY
Q: Why did you decide to retire the band at the height of your career?
We wanted to go out on a high note, not drag it out and risk diminishing what we built. Integrity mattered more than clinging to a legacy by sticking around past our welcome.
Martin Dunn
Q: What role does focusing strategy play in performance?
Focusing strategies are essential; once a student feels the benefit from a specific cue, they're more likely to stick with it and see long-term gains across waves and sessions.
Martin Dunn
Q: How do you approach coaching across different levels, from kids to pros?
I tailor focus strategies to each individual, emphasizing technique, decision-making, and consistent practice; I also use online video reviews and seminars to scalable coaching.
