  • Pompous Know It All

I just heard this episode and it really struck me how incredibly narcissistic this person is. From his examples of offering to pay $20,000 to have someone stop talking, to claiming to have studied everything there is to know about money, including having researched the Bible to feeling sorry for doctors if they have one or more of his so-called barriers to practice growth this guy is completely condescending and full of himself. Even the way he talks, in his slow, drawn out pronunciations of wor... more

Jay’s messages are not for everyone. He makes that clear. He speaks truth and makes no apologies for it. This is the good news. We each control our limitations.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EP 71: Your Biggest Competitive Advantage Isn't What You Think
Q: What is the biggest hiring mistake you see practice owners making today and how can they avoid it?
Hiring based on a resume and hiring out of desperation are common mistakes. The best offices hire for attitude, coachability, and cultural fit, even if the candidate has less traditional experience.
EP 71: Your Biggest Competitive Advantage Isn't What You Think
Q: So Jaclyn, when you walk into a practice for the first time, what tells you within the first hour whether it's healthy or struggling?
Culture reveals itself quickly; you can tell by how people communicate, how the doctor interacts with the team, and whether people seem energized or exhausted, which signals whether the environment supports growth.
EP 53: No Patients, No Problem: How Two Young Dentists Made It Happen Part 2
Q: So let's talk about the future. So you have 30 plus employees, you have all those things happening to both of you over the last five years, which is a lot. It's just a lot, right? And so walk through what, so how many rooms do you guys have now?
Plan for expanding to a larger 30-operatory office and potential real estate ownership, signaling confidence in scalable growth.
EP 53: No Patients, No Problem: How Two Young Dentists Made It Happen Part 2
Q: So talk to me about the team. How many employees do you guys have today?
Discussion about building a growing team, leading to a leadership structure and delegation with 30+ employees.
EP 66: What It Takes to Build a Practice Bigger Than You
Q: What catalyzed the expansion to include orthodontics and general dentistry within the same space?
The move was driven by the need to provide comprehensive care, create efficiency, and offer a seamless patient experience, all while preparing space to support growth and more complex services.
