  • Too many ads

I love listening to Phil Matier and his incisive analysis of San Francisco politics. Miss him in SF Chronicle. This program is great and an adequate substitution for what’s missing in the print media.

  • Content good - too many commercials

Content is good but the commercials before and after are longer than actual content and it repeats same ads. Probably would listen if on ad but not 4 to 6- 30 second ads for 3 minutes of content. Fast forward

  • Phil Matier

I’ve always enjoyed hearing Phil’s reporting and since I miss hearing Stan B, Steve B, I make sure to catch Phil (live or here).

Wish he had a longer segment, and thank you!

  • Too many ads

I love listening to Phil Matier and his incisive analysis of San Francisco politics. Miss him in SF Chronicle. This program is great and an adequate substitution for what’s missing in the print media. I think the pod cast right now is just trying to cram too many ads into it, knowing this is a popular program. But too many ads is a turn-off.

  • Phil is good

I enjoy hearing Phil, and if I don't catch him on KCBS then here is a back up.

I agree with "Chron Subscriber" - no need to cut it off prematurely! I think Phil needs a longer segment as the hosts usually chime in on the topics cuz they can get riled up too!

Officials in the Tri-Valley hope to build a new rail line to connect with BART
Q: So Phil, what's behind this idea?
The idea stems from rapid growth in the East Bay and the desire to connect the expanding housing and job centers along I-5 and 580 with transit options, while weighing funding competition with other major projects and considering new technologies such as hydrogen or battery-powered trains.
Despite a good run so far for CA gov, Swalwell accusations might hurt his campaign
Q: Can allegations like this move the needle?
Yes, they can influence voters, especially in races where many candidates are not well known, by shaping impressions and creating a narrative that candidates must respond to.
BONUS: 'A worldview that doesn't match reality:' Trump lays out case for Iran, and reaction is harsh
Q: Do you blame President Trump for the rising price of gasoline or for the broader handling of the Iran situation?
The discussion frames blame as a combination of global oil markets and strategic choices, with debate over whether the administration's approach will help or worsen domestic economic concerns.
San Francisco Mayor is off to Asia for the first time since taking office
Q: Why are China and Korea the focus for the mayor's first international trip?
The host explains it's a strategic move rooted in long-standing ties between San Francisco and Asian markets, with emphasis on the sizable Chinese American voting bloc, potential tourism, and economic investment opportunities.
Gov. Newsom approves a renewal for California's only nuclear power plant
Q: So Phil, how important is it to the state's power grid?
It's critical; the plant provides about 10% of California's power, and without it the grid would face significant reliability and stability challenges.
