Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

23: "A Map Can't Heal You" with IFS Therapist and Astrologer Lauren Donelson Jones
Q: Do you share astro-interpretations with clients, or keep them private?
I share what I see and invite clients to co-create meaning; it's about permission and collaboration. We can only cover so much in an hour, so we prioritize what parts need attention and use astrology as a contextual guide, not a roadmap fixed in stone.
23: "A Map Can't Heal You" with IFS Therapist and Astrologer Lauren Donelson Jones
Q: What does it look like in a session when you combine both modalities?
I usually begin with a chart reading, discuss what's being activated via timing, and then translate those planetary signals into IFS terms—identifying which parts are activated and how self-energy can engage with them in the moment.
23: "A Map Can't Heal You" with IFS Therapist and Astrologer Lauren Donelson Jones
Q: How did you come to integrate astrology with IFS in your practice?
I started with astrology in graduate school, found therapy dry and spiritually unfulfilling, and then discovered IFS. Over time these threads naturally wove together as I began recognizing parts in astrology, and IFS offered the language and containment to integrate the two.
30: Carla Contreras on Living by the Moon
Q: Before we jump off, how should listeners connect with Carla and learn more about your Moon Guide?
Carla explains that the best starting point is Nourishing Creativity on Substack, where you can access her Moon Guide and links to her podcast and social profiles; she also offers a code for the community to download The Moon Guide.
