It's got its fair share of fans these days, but that was not the case back in 1995. Join me and my excellent first-time guest Simon Underwood as we discuss this kitschy curiosity that somehow stood the test of time. Sort of.

  • The passion for movies is palpable

I love the love of movies, and even when Scott criticizes he does it with love. It sounds so much fun to be a guest (Scott, call me when you want to dip into Jerry Lewis)

  • Fun stuff

So many films I love, and some I didn’t know about. Always informative. Love the guest hosts. Might I suggest Wristcutters a love story? It’s more like under known or discussed!

  • Could be better

I really enjoy this show but it’s off putting how often Scott talks over the guest. He asks their opinion then speaks over them constantly. Love hearing everyones views on this show but come on man, wait until your guest stops speaking before jumping in with your own.

  • U need instruction, bad

Garbled mess. The informational fun is not clear. More patience needed. You murdered the review for the WITHOUT A CLUE 1988 movie. It’s on utube and you provide nearly zero evidence of its many wonderful qualities. How old are you? You don’t value your own audience.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hot to Trot (1988) (Episode #195)
Q: Tell our listeners a brief plot synopsis of Hot to Trot.
The film follows Bobcat Goldthwait as an aspiring figure in a stock brokerage who inherits a talking horse that can reveal stock tips, leading to wealth and chaos as the horse and Bobcat navigate jealousy, expansion, and a final horse race that serves as the climactic payoff.
The Man with One Red Shoe (1985) (Episode 194)
Q: What do you think about how the film is viewed today versus 1985?
The guests suggest that the movie is generally overlooked now, with a reputation that's faded but the strong ensemble cast keeps it watchable and worth revisiting for context on Hanks' early career and the era's genre conventions.
Episode #190: Point Break (2015)
Q: If you could recast Bodhi, who would you put in the role?
Tom Hardy as Bodhi would have been an inspired, high-energy choice that could have changed the film's dynamic and perhaps the audience's perception of the remake's tone.
Episode #190: Point Break (2015)
Q: Vince, would you rather watch Point Break 2015 or Star Wars: The Force Awakens?
I'd pick Star Wars: The Force Awakens for its place in a broader, beloved franchise, but I'd also acknowledge that Point Break 2015 offers pure spectacle and bold, if goofy, stunts that stick with you on rewatch.
Episode #191: The Beverly Hillbillies (1993)
Q: Would you recommend this film to someone who isn't a fan of the original show?
Yes, if you're in the mood for a breezy, star-packed comedy with nostalgic flavor and some genuinely funny moments, though it may not satisfy purists or be a standout standalone film.
