The show has good moments…unfortunately it’s not enough. The hosts are very full of themselves and their politics creep into almost every episode. I’m so sick of trying to escape the world of politics only to have them thrown out in every show.
Many better shows out there where politics don’t play any role.
Been listening for a long time. Glad to see you giving love to Idle Hands. Saw it twice in the theater when it first came out. Can’t wait to see what else we get for the Halloween season
The VERY BEST combination of entertainment and intellectual film discussion in one show. Truly extraordinary and delightful. These guys are easily the best cult film podcasters in the whole world.
Shows fall in and out of my podcast rotation, but this has been a mainstay for 10 years for me. The glut of knowledge that goes into each show, the enthusiasm both hosts (and the many guests over the years), and the unsung gems that get championed have helped expand my cinematic tastes. On top of that, the community of fans is top notch, and I’m happy to call many of these knuckleheads friends.
Each episode, even if it is a movie I don't have an interest in, is entertaining. I have picked up several movies based on nothing more than the ramblings of these two guys (Born to fight for example). When the show starts to cover a time period (like Summer of 84) or a director (BTS most recently) the show usually comes up with movies that are interesting and sometimes off the beaten path and are worth the time to watch.
