Historical Factors In Craftsmanship

We cover the lives of violin makers, their best parts and worst parts, yesterday and today. Historical stories, interviews with experts and makers in the field. Omobono Stradivari was the least liked son of his father, Antonio, he was remembered in Antonio's will as a screw up. He is our north star. We are all part of this. We all belong exactly here.

  • Disappointed

I came to the podcast with high expectations as a violinist having been referred from the Violin Chronicles. But I can no longer sit through just aimless banter with no substance. I am not your kitchen table & privy to your inside jokes.

  • Both fun and useful content

Omo is a fun and useful podcast. I really enjoy listening to the congenial and intelligent conversation about lutherie, whether it is emotional aspects, the business, interviewing other lutherie luminaries, experts on wood, all of it. I am an amateur guitar maker (the one guy listening from Alabama- evidently/perhaps or coincidentally - that they make fun of in their audience). I think the show is very interesting and enjoyable. I appreciate all the work that it takes and the knowledgeable and ... more

  • Needs better editing

This is a really good podcast concept, but PLEASE get a good editor! There’s so much that should be cut out for conciseness. Keep doing what you’re doing.

  • A must listen to podcast for every violin workshop.

You had me at “Imposter Syndrome”. After I discovered this podcast last month, I binge listened while working in the repair shop. After consuming every episode in about two weeks, I’m not only craving more of them episodes, but I feel so much more informed about violin and luthier topics I never really gave much thought to before… Like that guy Omobono… who knew? Thank you for creating this gem and for keeping me company in my one man violin shop.
