Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bec chats to Bush's Gavin Rossdale!
Q: You broke up for a while and then reformed with a new album; what brought you back together and what can fans expect from the new material?
I was persuaded to do a solo record briefly, which was unusual for a rock band; but we eventually reformed with the original members and have embraced heavier, more modern approaches while keeping energy and melodies intact.
Bec chats to Bush's Gavin Rossdale!
Q: So you're heading back to New Zealand this September. What do you remember about playing there from previous visits?
The memory is that New Zealand is beautiful and the shows feel really special; we hope for a great time of year and a strong reception, and the last visit included memorable rehearsals in an old bank.
Bec chats to Bush's Gavin Rossdale!
Q: Bush are back on the road. They're coming to New Zealand this September, and frontman Gavin Rossdale joins me right now. How are you?
I'm doing good, thanks. We're super excited to be back and looking forward to a great time in New Zealand; last time we rehearsed in a disused bank, which was a memorable backdrop for preparing the tour.
Greg chats to Thom from Coast Arcade!
Q: What does it mean to open for Biffy Clyro?
Thom describes it as a surreal, 360-degree moment for the band and expresses how buzzing they were about the opportunity.
The Hauraki Breakfast chat to Neil Finn from Split Enz!
Q: How did you assemble the lineup for the reunion and prepare for Electric Avenue?
The group talked through the arrangements, brought back former members gradually, and treated Electric Avenue as a focal point to reignite the band's energy, while acknowledging the nerves and making sure the on-stage makeup and vibe fit the moment.
