  • The reason your second hour listenership drops.

On a recent episode, Mr. Moore lamented his WABC radio show saw a drop in listenership the second hour.

Steven almost always starts out by saying he’s the only one on the radio for the time slot that’s not an infomercial. Then he proceeds to put an infomercial in the middle of the show... It’s the Payne’s, Steven, it’s always been the Payne’s.

Ninety percent of your listeners don’t have $1M to get a, “no obligation master plan” from these guys. Were lucky we can buy groceries.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

John Catsimatidis: Food, Energy, and Economic Policy
Q: How do private sector groceries compete with public options, and what has your experience shown?
He cites examples from other cities where public grocers failed financially, implying private sector-driven competition delivers better service and efficiency, and warns against taxpayer-funded market distortions.
John Catsimatidis: Food, Energy, and Economic Policy
Q: What would you advise on affordability given current interest rates and energy costs?
The guest argues for lowering interest rates and stabilizing gasoline prices as critical levers to improve affordability, suggesting federal actions in energy and monetary policy to support home buying and consumer costs.
John Catsimatidis: Food, Energy, and Economic Policy
Q: Do you think the mayor will cut food costs at grocery stores by 30% as suggested, and what would that imply for private retailers?
The guest expresses skepticism about sweeping price cuts being feasible, noting that complete disclosure and market dynamics make broad price reductions challenging for private retailers, while emphasizing the need to balance consumer relief with business viability.
Moore Money: Economics, Sports, and Industry Shifts
Q: In our last 30 seconds, are you telling our listeners that the price of oil will go down to $70 a barrel and $3 a gallon by election day?
John Katsimatidis predicts a price of $3 per gallon by election day and $60,000 on the Dow by year-end, arguing current policy and drilling actions will keep oil prices affordable, while acknowledging uncertainty.
Cynthia Fisher: The Economics Of Medical Care
Q: What is the practical impact of price transparency on everyday health care costs and consumer behavior?
The guest argues that visible prices turn health care into a true market where patients act like cost-conscious consumers, prices become competitive, and overcharges are more likely to be challenged when itemized bills reflect real costs.
