So they just can't wait to see how the migrant waves will change the pedestrian thinking of the backwards masses in Europe, and of course a continuation of the... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor on his new album, ‘Paris In The Spring’
Q: What inspired the title and how did Paris In The Spring come about?
Alexis describes the title as a clever psychological test motif that plays with the brain's tendency to skim text, plus a conceptual link to the Paris setting and the album's themes, making the title both resonant and accessible.
Jessie Ware and her glittering new album, ‘Superbloom’
Q: What about the track Ride and the Morricone-inspired elements—what was the approach there?
Ware describes crafting a club-ready vibe with a bold, arched vocal style, incorporating a Morricone homage to create a distinct, cinematic energy that sits at the crossroads of dance music and storytelling.
Jessie Ware and her glittering new album, ‘Superbloom’
Q: Was the album-making process consistently organic, and how did outside inspirations influence the direction?
She confirms the process was highly organic, inspired by experiences and conversations (including an exhibition with Tracy Emin) that encouraged evolving and refining ideas rather than forcing a fixed concept.
Jessie Ware and her glittering new album, ‘Superbloom’
Q: Jessie Ware, what can you say about the album and why was it described as the hardest one you've made?
Ware explains that after a high-imagination start, she redirected toward a more soulful, groovy, and electronic blend, picking songs that truly fit the mood and letting some tracks fall away to refine the final sound.
A conversation with director Oliver Laxe from the sensorial ‘Sirāt’
Q: First of all, I love the film; did you live in Morocco and how did that landscape inform Sirāt?
Yes, I lived 10 years in Morocco, including time in Skoura and Roi Zazat; the landscape shaped my attraction and the way I built the film around its atmosphere and spaces.
