  • I really enjoy this podcast and the ideas presented. However, please return to the audio only format. The video format doesn't seem to add much to the content, takes up a lot of space, and makes it more difficult to listen to while multitasking. Thank you.

  • Consistently high quality

One of my favorite faith podcasts. I loved the interviews with brief theological introductions to Book of Mormon authors. Love the Abide series related to come follow me curriculum.

I hope you do more episodes with Christian Heal and others for NT 2023!

Addendum: love the SHORT episodes about OT!!!

  • Awful academic rubbish

I was hoping to gain some insight in section 88 and instead the two speakers took

verse 15 to discuss “embodiment” and racial embodiment. Racial essentialism is a cancer and it is a shame that the Maxwell Institute has allowed it to metastasize.

Maxwell Institute Podcast #203: Student Spotlight, with Melissa Jensen and Sam Petersen
Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself, where you're from, what you're majoring in, and how you first got involved with the Maxwell Institute.
Melissa explains she studies English with a creative writing track, grew up in Northern California, and became involved after attending a Wonders of Scripture lecture and getting invited to contribute to the Institute.
Maxwell Institute Podcast #200: Interfaith Friendship, featuring Dr. Andrew Reed
Q: What are Stendahl's three rules of interfaith engagement?
The host asks about Stendahl's three rules, and Reed replies with the threefold framework: first, go to the authentic sources and let adherents define themselves; second, compare our best to their best to avoid biased caricatures; third, leave space for holy envy, allowing us to admire practices from other traditions and consider how we might incorporate aspects respectfully.
Maxwell Institute Podcast #196: Caring for a Living Faith, featuring Dr. Miranda Wilcox
Q: What makes a faith living?
A living faith provides shelter and growth, much like the mustard seed that grows into a substantial structure.
Maxwell Institute Podcast #187: How to Read the Bible Like a Pilgrim, featuring Dr. Kristian Heal
Q: What can a sort of non-expert Latter-day Saint, who really wants to start a pilgrimage through the Old Testament this year, how can they most benefit from academic scholarship on the Bible, and how can they access that scholarship?
Start with a good study Bible, such as the Oxford Study Bible or the Jewish Study Bible, and find commentaries that present biblical scholarship alongside Christian thought, like John Goldingay's work.
Maxwell Institute Podcast #186: More to Question, More to Believe, with Dr. Katie Paxman
Q: What is the relationship between questions and doubt?
Doubt can be a disposition toward a particular belief, whereas questioning actively seeks understanding and is a more engaged form of inquiry.
