Faith Matters offers an expansive view of the Restored Gospel, thoughtful exploration of big and sometimes thorny questions, and a platform that encourages deeper engagement with our faith and our world. We focus on the Latter-day Saint (Mormon) tradition, but believe we have much to learn from other traditions and fully embrace those of other beliefs.

  • My favorite podcast

I have listened to and loved this podcast for a long time. However, I was so impressed with the 5-part series on polygamy that I had to leave a review. It was a thoughtfully planned series presented with a level of honesty from faithful people that I actually wasn’t sure was possible for our community. A huge thank you to all who participated. Listening to this gave me hope.

  • Thought provoking, faith promoting

I enjoy so many of the discussions happening on Faith Matters. This podcast has seen me through the murkiest moments of my faith journey to a place of greater complexity and clarity. I’ve especially liked the episode with Susan and Cynthia as well as the most recent episode about wrestling with polygamy, specifically Bethany’s comments. Thank you for creating a space that is challenging and encouraging and for pushing back gently but firmly on so many problematic quirks so we can create a health... more

  • Polygamy series

Thank you for this! I’ve been so bothered for decades by polygamy, particularly the spiritual polygamy practiced now. There’s a story passed down in my family that one of my multi-great grandmothers died at 22 from a broken heart when her husband decided on his own to take a second wife. I love the perspectives and honest questions in this series about whether or not it really is right or eternal. Mostly, I’ve tried my best to simply not think about it so I don’t get too angry. It feels very fre... more
