  • Good and bad.

The Good - Madden doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him, which comes in handy when he rips apart Pittsburgh fans who can be a bit dim. He also does a great job at interviewing, and he gets some fantastic guests. He can be hilarious, especially when he’s hanging up on callers who don’t agree with him. He also knows hockey better than anyone in the local sports talk scene, and he’s well connected in the NHL world.

The Bad - He’s old, cranky and arrogant. You can hear the flem in his throa... more

There’s more to people than that? No not with what is happening now. It’s truly time. You hate your job you said nothing about the election with a huge population listening. No there’s not more to people than that. You are like

Lebron . People thought he was going to be a social awareness leader but is too lazy and not very smart. That is sadly what Madden is. I moved to really like this guy until he wouldn’t talk logically when his country needed him to. It’s time for us all to stop listening t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

HR 3 - Paul Zeise Joins the Show, Pirates Gotta Go For It
Q: Paul, let's start with the Steelers and the Herbig Extension. What do you make of that extension?
Paul Zeise notes that paying a backup $100 million adds risk to the cap and questions whether the three-edgerusher group can justify the cost, while suggesting the Watt deal is the real misstep and could limit future flexibility.
HR 2 - Mike Defabo Talking Steelers, Brian Batko Doing the Same
Q: Mike, are they actually at Kennywood today? Were you invited, and was the park closed?
Yes, they were at Kennywood and it was an organized event for the Steelers; it wasn't open to the public, but the team was there early with some park activities and free games for a bit.
Pregame Show - Sean Casey
Q: What are your expectations for Griffin's rookie year?
Casey emphasizes that Griffin has elite tools and the potential to adapt quickly, but cautions that a 19-year-old rookie will need a supporting cast to reach playoff contention, while recognizing the opportunity Griffin represents.
HR 3 - King Jemison Talking Dubas Presser, More Out Than In
Q: When did this become a thing waiting on a quarterback to sign?
The host argues it never should be the norm for a quarterback to be absent from the team's offseason work, stressing that a quarterback is supposed to lead, develop chemistry, and be present; Rodgers's situation is portrayed as an outlier that doesn't fit the standard.
HR 3 - Tim Benz Talking Buccos, Rooting For Failure
Q: Donna, you're on with Double M.
Donna responds with a question about TV terminology and a personal quip about her cat.
