  • Good and bad.

The Good - Madden doesn’t care what anyone thinks about him, which comes in handy when he rips apart Pittsburgh fans who can be a bit dim. He also does a great job at interviewing, and he gets some fantastic guests. He can be hilarious, especially when he’s hanging up on callers who don’t agree with him. He also knows hockey better than anyone in the local sports talk scene, and he’s well connected in the NHL world.

The Bad - He’s old, cranky and arrogant. You can hear the flem in his throa... more

There’s more to people than that? No not with what is happening now. It’s truly time. You hate your job you said nothing about the election with a huge population listening. No there’s not more to people than that. You are like

Lebron . People thought he was going to be a social awareness leader but is too lazy and not very smart. That is sadly what Madden is. I moved to really like this guy until he wouldn’t talk logically when his country needed him to. It’s time for us all to stop listening t... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

HR 2 - Gene Collier Joins The Show, Norris Ballot
Q: Gene, what do you think about the Rodgers situation and its impact on the Steelers?
Gene provides a candid, context-rich assessment of the Rodgers saga, noting the ongoing uncertainty and criticizing how the situation is being handled, while offering perspective on how teams and fans react to similar quarterback news.
HR 1 - Malkin, Bucco Round Up, Pierre McGuire
Q: What would you do with Evgeny Malkin if you were Kyle Dubas?
A one-year contract is the most sensible starting point, with an eye toward reassessing next season based on performance, health, and the evolving roster, while avoiding a long-term commitment that could hamper flexibility.
Hr 2- Pierre McGuire Joins the Show
Q: If Malkin goes, how do you think that affects Sidney Crosby's contract extension?
Sidney Crosby will likely observe the organization's plan and respond based on how the team evolves with younger players; his decision would be tied more to the team's direction and overall competitiveness than to Malkin's status alone.
Hr 2- Pierre McGuire Joins the Show
Q: What would you do with Evgeny Malkin if you were Kyle Dubas?
I would have a long talk with him to assess his current headspace and physical condition, then likely offer no more than a one-year contract to keep flexibility while evaluating the younger players and the team's trajectory.
HR 2 - Josh Yohe Talking Pens, Penguins Calls
Q: What would you do with Evgeny Malkin for next season?
Yohe outlined a balanced view: consider keeping him if the plan centers around winning with a mix of veteran leadership and a growing wave of younger players, but he also acknowledged that moving toward a rebuild with a younger core could complicate keeping a top-line star like Malkin.
