Making Comics is a podcast where indie comics creators Scott Lost (Wanderers of Melissanda, The Second Shift) and Keith Foster (Kodoja, Three Protectors) discuss the world of independent comics from both artist and writer perspectives. It centers around one question - what did you do last week? Art, writing, promotion, you name it - it all adds up to the work behind an indie comic.

I am making a comic book with my two other friends and I was starting out with my backstory and my design and as I’m listening it feels like I’m getting better as an artist and writer and I love that because eventually I think like most I wanna do my own trilogy with just my character and I think that this is what will help me do that.
I thought I already left a review. I actually believe my review was removed by a blargon agent. This podcast is worth the price of admission merely to understand what productivity looks like in indie comics. There are many other reasons to listen, but I find, as the saying goes, that most indies want to have already made a comic, but don’t want to make comics. These two make comics. Lots of them. Listen and find out how.
Sometimes you sacrifice knowledge about comics for a joke about cocaine

Two indie comic creators share a weekly, hands-on look at turning ideas into finished comics. The show blends craft tips (storytelling, page layouts, lettering), production realities (printing, audiobooks, Kickstarter logistics), and personal anecdotes from ongoing projects. A recurring vibe mixes practical how-tos with relaxed humor, beer talk, and encouragement for other creators navigating indie publishing. Notable strengths include a transparent, creator-to-creator perspective and a steady focus on moving projects from concept to reader engagement, often via crowd-backed launches and convention appearances.
