I had the pleasure of meeting Rob with my boys at Cincinnati Comic Expo in 2016. My brother and I have been huge fans since X-Force came out (I was 10!).
This was my first time at a convention signing and I wasn't familiar with how it all worked. My oldest was 12, loved Deadpool, and the only reason we went to the show was to meet Rob. My son brought his little Deadpool Funko in hopes Rob would sign it but we didn't have any cash for the signing. Rob was beyond gracious shaking our hands, taki... more
I was a kid who collected comics during a brief window from 1990 to 1994. Liefeld was always one of my favorite artists. Discovering this podcast has been a blast of nostalgia plus a bigger blast of inspiration. Seeing the behind the scenes of the creative process from someone who so obviously loves his medium is amazing. It's got me writing my novel again. Excelsior, Rob!
Rob is rude and offensive to his listeners and (former) fans. He can’t speak and repeats himself too often plus won’t talk about issues Comicbook fans really care about. He and the show are the worst!
This is the only podcast I have ever been able to listen to consistently. I love the show, it is the only podcast I can get hooked on. Thanks for the years of amazing shows!
Love the show. Your show in escape pod podcast got me back into comics from deadpool to Batman just loving it all. Absolutely Batman is incredible. Is there a character reinvention that has happened during your career that absolutely changed your view on a character?

A lively, veteran-voiced look at comics as culture, industry trends, and creator-driven storytelling. Episodes center on market dynamics, retailer strategies, convention ecosystems, creator-owned projects, licensing, and the ongoing interplay between comics and film. The host leverages deep industry history and candid anecdotes to illuminate how big events, formats, and platforms shape opportunities for retailers, fans, and creators alike. Notable throughlines include the rise of creator-owned properties, the impact of licensing on pricing and demand, and bold, opinionated takes on market health and media integration, often with a retail or convention lens that should appeal to fans and professionals seeking insider perspective.
