  • The ads.

This would be a wonderful show for comic book enthusiasts but the ad breaks make this annoying and unlistenable. The host or guest will be in the middle of a sentence and an ad for AI helping your business will randomly start. As a podcast creator myself I cannot personally imagine polluting my show that I work so hard on with ads to such a degree, both the careless placement and the unbelievable frequency.

  • Wish I could give him 5 stars.

So sad that John and Mark Waid spent the first few minutes of their interview comparing the Trump administration to Waid’s excellent Empire series from a few years ago. A world in which the bad guys won. Give me a break. Your TDS is out of control. It’s nice to have a president that enforces the laws and puts America first. I am certainly going to continue to enjoy the next three years.

  • Ugh. Disappointment

Well…I’ve gone from loving this show, to being a patreon supporter, to not supporting and unfollowing the show.

John has become a disgruntled old man that thinks he knows about modern culture. He refers to himself as “hip.” Not true. He argues with his “friends” about how they talk over him, but all he does is talk over them and get on his soapbox and name drops comic titans. He shares the same stories about how he feels about certain topics on multiple shows, my favorite was when everyone stop... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

King Of The Kaiju Godzilla with IDW Editor Jake Williams
Q: Why the focus on Kaisei energy and its life-force aspects?
Kaisei energy provides a narrative engine that explains Godzilla's long unaired presence and enables creators to explore mutations and healing possibilities while maintaining the character's core as a powerful life-force rather than a mere monster.
King Of The Kaiju Godzilla with IDW Editor Jake Williams
Q: What makes Starship Godzilla distinct from other Godzilla titles?
Starship Godzilla focuses on a space-set, team-driven mission with a Mechagodzilla core, expanding the mythos beyond Earth and enabling space-based kaiju adventures with a crew akin to sci-fi ensemble casts.
King Of The Kaiju Godzilla with IDW Editor Jake Williams
Q: How does the relationship with Toho International shape what you can publish?
Toho International acts as the gatekeeper for approvals; we pitch nascent concepts and iterate with Aaron John Gregory to fit within their guidelines, sometimes shifting from Mechagodzilla to other kaiju to stay within what can be approved.
Beavis Butthead and Rick Parker
Q: When you started at Marvel, who did you report to and where exactly were you working?
Parker explains he went to Marvel to be an artist, started by asking a store clerk about the best artist, bought a Spider-Man issue to study, and then moved into lettering and pencils with a strong sense of independence and self-ownership over his pages.
Kelly Sue DeConnick Captain Marvel
Q: How do you envision the arc length for the initial Captain Marvel run, and what influenced your decision to start with a self-contained issue?
The arc is planned to be self-contained to give readers a complete experience in the opening while planting seeds for the longer term, aiming to balance a strong first impression with ongoing storytelling that can mature into a longer arc if readers respond well.
