  • Emily’s Program Changed My Life

I first came across Emily last year while I was recuperating from foot surgery. I currently weigh 60 less than I did then. I attribute that weight loss to Emily’s coaching and her 4 Non-Negotiable Habits. Anyone who can move the equivalent of 8,000 steps a day, on average, and lift weights 3days a week, can succeed with Emily’s program. It is simply the best, easiest, and most painless way I’ve ever lost significant weight. I fully intend to keep going with it even after I make my ideal weight. ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Should I Log Food Raw or Cooked? (and Other Beginner Macro Questions)
Q: How close do I need to be to macro targets to make progress?
You don't need perfect numbers; staying within a small range most days and focusing on patterns over time yields the results; consistency matters more than daily perfection.
Should I Log Food Raw or Cooked? (and Other Beginner Macro Questions)
Q: How do I track butter, oil, and dressings?
Weigh the container on a scale, zero it, measure what you use, and log the difference; if tedious, estimate about 1-3 teaspoons per meal and build from there.
Should I Log Food Raw or Cooked? (and Other Beginner Macro Questions)
Q: Do I need to log non-starchy vegetables?
Usually no, they are low in calories and carbs; tracking them can add unnecessary stress, and the macro prescription often accounts for them indirectly.
Should I Log Food Raw or Cooked? (and Other Beginner Macro Questions)
Q: What is the best tracking app and how do I choose the correct database entry?
Recommended apps include Chronometer, Macros First, and MyFitnessPal. Prefer entries that are verified or USDA-sourced; avoid user-entered data with odd decimals or missing data.
Should I Log Food Raw or Cooked? (and Other Beginner Macro Questions)
Q: Do I need to weigh everything I eat?
Not initially. Start with estimates focusing on main heavy hitters (protein, starch, cooking fat), then add the scale for those items as you gain confidence.
