LFP 53 The Risk of Smoke inhalation Equismoke Awareness
Q: Can you tell us about how you got involved with barriers talking about smoke inhalation?
Lisa shares her extensive nursing background and how she transitioned from surgical smoke awareness to focus on the risks of smoke inhalation in farriery after noticing health issues in farriers she worked with.
LFP 46 Farrier Scholar with Connor Morrison DipWCF
Q: If you could go back and change one thing about your farriery career, what would it be?
I would probably have traveled more and experienced different cultures and farriery practices instead of rushing into self-employment.
LFP 46 Farrier Scholar with Connor Morrison DipWCF
Q: What's the biggest innovation or change you've seen in your career to do with the way we shoe horses?
The biggest change has been the continuous professional development (CPD) that enables knowledge sharing amongst farriers, enhancing their skills and techniques through access to diverse forms of education.
LFP 46 Farrier Scholar with Connor Morrison DipWCF
Q: What are your thoughts on regulation in the UK farrier industry?
I think it's a brilliant thing, really, if you think about the actual intent of what it's there for. It has pushed standards high but may keep prices lower due to apprentice pay structures.
