  • Kerry’s Podcast has been our lifeline!

The concept and essence of Microschooling is always what my husband and I wanted for our kids but we didn’t know that vision had a name, and that so many others were embarking on that path of educational entrepreneurship. Kerry’s podcast has been our lifeline, our flashlight so to speak on a path that felt so dark at one point. One episode at a time, we were able to visualize our own dream of starting a Microschool, and are looking forward to opening our doors to our first group of students this... more

  • Inspiration and encouragement for all new founders

When offered to start my own microschool, I had no idea where to start. I have listened to so many of Kerry’s episodes and have been so inspired by all of the educators she has interviewed. I am so grateful for Kerry and what she is doing for the sake of education. I feel so confident going into the launch of my own microschool in September 2025 because of what I have learned from this show.

Building A Vermont Microschool: Susan Yao's Journey From Teacher to Founder
Q: What advice would you give to other perspective founders, maybe current classroom teachers, considering following in your footsteps?
Don't try to recreate that and certainly, your first year will not look anything like that. Many of those 200-person schools started out as 10 kids in a garage.
Crossover Special: LiberatED & Teacher, Let Your Light Shine!
Q: What sparked your passion for education, freedom, and joyful learning?
Kerry shares her journey, starting from her undergraduate studies in economics, leading her to explore homeschooling and the limitations of traditional K-12 education.
Cupola Academy: A Modern Model for Self-Directed, Secular Learning
Q: What advice do you have for those families?
Be brave. You can do it. People will help you.
Cupola Academy: A Modern Model for Self-Directed, Secular Learning
Q: What are some of the ways that you help support those families on the days when their young people are not at Cupola?
The biggest kind of support we can give to families is helping them flip that switch of being able to see that learning can happen anytime, and that it does not have to be confined to a traditional classroom with a teacher memorization and regurgitation.
Cupola Academy: A Modern Model for Self-Directed, Secular Learning
Q: What do you say to those folks, those questioners who can't imagine that young people can be successful if they're not kind of directly instructed in a top-down way?
What our alumni repeatedly share with us is the opportunity that they were respected and trusted by adult facilitators, but also the ability to be stretched outside of their comfort zone.
