- Good, but has audio balance issues.
Good show with a solid structure heavily borrowed/stolen from its predecessor podcast Tale of the Manticore (go listen to that one as well). The audio problem is the volume of the sappy melodramatic background music and sound effects are too loud and compete with the action descriptions and characters dialogue. Turn the background volume down and rotate the music out with something less sappy during dialogue scenes and it could be a 5 star show.

I really like this podcast. There are several similar solo play podcasts that tie narrative with solo play to create an audio drama. Some are good some aren’t, but this one is great. The narrator is so well spoken and consistent. The voice acting is entertaining and makes it easy to listen to. The story is compelling. I really enjoy this one.

I’ve listened to this show from the start and it is fantastic. There is a storyline to keep things moving but enough random events to help the wider world feel real. The characters are all distinct and have their own personalities which makes it easy to get invested in their survival. Which makes the combats all the more more stressful as there really are no guardrails up and the combats can be incredibly tense / dangerous.
