  • Great Blues pod

I enjoy listening, and I like the variety of the hosts. Quick question for Alex, dude do you get paid like $5 every time you say ‘Colton Parayko?’ And my goodness the way you pronounce Colton grinds my gears fella! Anyway, just a little jab, keep up the good shows!

  • Great discussion

Great pod today w Kerbs discussing all things Bluex and NHL playoffs. I enjoy the way you have been adding guests when you can and as we get closer to this Draft I hope you can have some draft related guests.

With the 3 first rounders as it stands today this draft could be pivotal for this franchise. I don’t know if it would be possible to get someone from the team like a Tony Felton to come on and discuss draft strategy without saying too much but drafts just are fascinating to me

  • Canadian Goalies

You were talking about Canadian goalies for the next Olympics and rightfully mentioned Joel Hofer.

Another name to keep in mind is Carter Hart he was suspended for a bit because of that situation with the Canadian World Jr team. Those players were acquitted and he is playing w Vegas and trying to regain his form. If he returns to form he can be an elite goalie as well

    Love the pod

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Oskar Sundqvist In Studio
Q: How do you stay prepared physically for an entire NHL season and playoffs?
Summer work varies; he focuses on healing prior injuries, staying active without overdoing it, and ramping up training gradually to be ready for training camp.
Oskar Sundqvist In Studio
Q: What is the rule on fans calling you by your nickname, Sunny?
Sunny is fine to use; there are no hard rules about nicknames, and Sunny is easier for many Americans to pronounce.
2026 NHL Live Draft Broadcast
Q: Why did the Blues choose to trade up to target a player like Mason McTavish rather than staying with the 11th pick?
Armstrong explains that the Blues prioritized balancing present competitiveness with future potential, using two first-round picks to maximize return while keeping 11 for a future developmental plan; the trade allows them to bring in a proven NHL contributor while maintaining pipeline depth.
Doug Armstrong weighs in on acquiring Mason McTavish and the Blues' new first-rounders
Q: Doug, tell us about the mechanics of the trade and how the Blues balanced today's needs with tomorrow's potential.
Armstrong explains the process of trading for McTavish, the pick selections (15 and 29), and the careful balance between upgrading the current roster and building for the future, including internal discussions and research.
Answering Listener Emails with Jordan Deeken
Q: What if the Blues traded Kyrou for a top-tier asset?
They would likely seek an NHL-level impact player or a top-tier prospect rather than a low first-round pick, because Kyrou's speed and upside are high-value assets in the right market; a trade would hinge on a partner offering a definitive upgrade over what the Blues can develop internally.
