  • Amazing Rabbi, unlistenable recordings

I have been a Rabbi Gottlieb fan for years, and I can rarely listen to these podcasts because of the audio quality. Uneven sound, bad quality recordings, etc… I really hope someone reads this and does something about it!

  • Constructive feedback

It would be extremely helpful if the investment was made to simply buy a rode recorder and mic. As quality of audio makes a huge difference. Thank you

  • Greatly Insightful

Absolutely loving the episodes on Genesis. My only complaint is the the actual audio is not compressed so there is a lot of dynamic in the Rabbi Dovid’s voice. When he is talking in his normal voice you turn the volume up and when he raises his voice you have to turn it down a couple notches 😂

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hallel - Pesach's Haggadah - Part 8
Q: Can you give an example for a relationship one can develop after having kids, or one discovered he can develop after having kids?
The host answers with a story about a husband supporting his wife after dropping a jar of oil, illustrating gentleness, understanding, and proactive care as a model for post-childbirth relationships.
Q&A - Times of Geulah and Moshiach, the Rambam on Amalek, Middos
Q: What is the significance of the 6,000-year discussion, and how should we view predictions of the Messiah's coming?
The discussion emphasizes that the halachic and scholarly tradition does not bind the Messiah to a fixed date. While some figures argued for a deadline, the Rambam rejects the deterministic dating, and historical voices sometimes used deadlines to frame an era's urgency, not to declare an inevitable event. It teaches cautious interpretation and resilience regardless of predictions.
Q&A - Times of Geulah and Moshiach, the Rambam on Amalek, Middos
Q: How should we understand the Rambam's view on Amalek and the duty to fight or seek peace?
The Rambam teaches that there is a duty to first offer peace and only go to war if peace is rejected. There is no mitzvah to kill Amalek preemptively; peace on acceptable terms fulfills the mitzvah, while failure to accept peace can lead to conflict. This frames war as a last resort after attempting negotiations.
Q&A - Times of Geulah and Moshiach, the Rambam on Amalek, Middos
Q: Considering that these times are propitious for the Jewish people, what is the proper attitude toward current events and potential Mashiach timing?
The approach is not to predict a concrete date, but to recognize that crises may signal opportunities to intensify efforts toward redemption. Treat periods of upheaval as a push to act with greater resolve, while understanding that the exact timing remains unknowable and should not be treated as a fixed deadline. One should examine whether conditions are right and act accordingly, without making definitive timelines.
What's the Difference From Come and Learn (Babli), Come and see (Yerushalmi), Go Forth and Learn (Haggadah) Part 5
Q: Why is it described as an Aramean trying to destroy my father, and then the story moves to Egypt and Goshen?
The host explains that the phrasing links past peril to the future strategy of survival in exile, showing how the narrative uses history to justify present Jewish identity and a stance of careful separation and resilience.
